Doc Gelo of Beyond Toxicity encouraged me to write this post, so Doc Gelo if you are reading this maraming salamat

Cafe Sweet Inspirations is this quaint restaurant along the Katipunan avenue that is very popular amongst students from the surrounding schools and those who enjoy eating Mongolian buffet. It was a last minute decision to treat my family at Cafe Sweet Inspirations because of the gentle bullying of my dear mother.
Mom: “Ing, manlibre ka naman! Birthday mo diba?”
Me: “Hah? Eh wala akong pera! Ako na lang ilibre mo”
Mom: “Ikaw ang kuripot mo talaga, dali hindi na kami magluluto ng dinner kasi manlilibre ka.”
Me: “Sige na nga…”
It is recommended that you make reservations during dinner weekends because this place gets packed pretty quickly. So John made reservations for us at around 630PM. Since not all of us are into Mongolian Buffet, Vanessa and Faye ordered from the a la carte menu.
You know this place is for students because of their value meals that starts at 100-150 per meal which includes pasta or rice meal, a piece of dessert plus drink. Budget-friendly talaga!
Knowing Faye who loves anything cheesy and bacon, she ordered Carbonara. She said that the noodles were al dente, generous with the cheese and bacon and the cream sauce not overpowering.
Vanessa on the other hand, ordered from the snack/budget meal. She had the mushroom and cheese pasta with a slice of Banana Cream Pie (not pictured)
Peewee who is a chocoholic, started with a piece of chocolate mousse. I took a little bite from the mousse while Peewee was not looking, and it was good! Not too sweet, very light and packs a bunch of chocolate. You can taste the labor of love that went into making it.
Sorry for the lack of photos because….
The then-President elect Noynoy Aquino and…
VP candidate Mar Roxas
came inside to have dinner too!
I believe I was the first one to notice that PNoy came through the door, because I shouted “Ay, si Noynoy!” and everybody clapped as if he had been proclaimed. (This event occurred May 23 when counting was still ongoing). Then Mar Roxas followed. Everybody was so excited as if a rock star came into the room! This was really a rare opportunity that the would-be President and the could-have-been VP in the same room. We were all awe-struck, everybody wanted take their pictures with them and luckily we were one of the firsts.
And what made it more exciting was PNoy came to our table and shook all of our hands including Peewee which he said “aba, kasali na din pala ito kumain dito” as if they have been long acquaintance.
After almost everybody had their pictures taken and PNoy’s group settled at a long table next to ours, everything became normal. I had Cheesecake which was not too sweet with a little hint of lemon or calamansi and topped with caramel. Well, it was a different story with John. He was starstruck that he couldn’t finish his bowl!
Then a few days later, John and I saw the Aquino sisters Pinky and Ballsy at Landmark Trinoma. 🙂
Si Kris na lang ang kulang. 🙂
