We’ve done a grand party last year for his first birthday. This year, we opted to be simple yet heartfelt celebration.
We had lunch at home. The usual food for parties. Spaghetti, pork barbeque and cake. He’s still learning how to blow the candle.
The cake is a new creation of Red Ribbon. Chocolate Heaven. A brownie bottom with chocolate mousse covered with chocolate ganache and topped with chocolate curls. Rich and dense. I just ate a sliver ‘coz its so rich. My only criticism to this cake is the brownie is not chocolate-y enough. All the chocolate-y goodness came from the ganache. It’s comparable to Chocolate Overload of Conti’s.
After lunch, we all took a nap to get energize for our mall trip late in the afternoon.
Around four in the afternoon, we were at the SM Mall of Asia to bring Peewee to the Kidz Universe. When we got there, he got overwhelmed and cried his heart out so it was a no go. He opted to play at the playground at the San Miguel by the Bay with other kids.
This is the first time that I let him play on his own with other kids. When we are the park, we are usually the ones only using the playground so he did not need to compete for it. So it was something new to him to compete with the use of the slides. He kept everybody else use it first then if no one else is using it then he slowly sat and enjoyed sliding. Do you think its a good thing? Mukhang mataas ang EQ ano? Letting others first before himself. 🙂
We waited for the famous Manila Bay sunset.
It was breathtaking.
John wanted Chinese so we went back to Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant. Since we had a very filling lunch, we had Yang Chow Fried Rice and Roasted Duck. The fried rice was delish! Its a meal in itself. Lots of bbq pork, shrimps and veggies mixed in with the rice. Our order of rice is good for 3-4 persons for 200 pesos not bad at all. Roasted Duck was decandent! Its up there with Peking Garden and Gloria Maris, and its moderately priced (280/order) compared to other Chinese restos (400/order at Gloria Maris).
We went back to MOA for our dessert that I think deserves a separate post. 🙂
